Douglas County – Omaha Code Violations

Douglas County and the city of Omaha have made it very easy to see what current code violations your property may have and what code violations have been closed out.

The first source to look is https://www.omahapermits.com/permitinfo/

The second which is not always fully up to date is http://data-dogis.opendata.arcgis.com/datasets/omaha-planning-building-code-violations/data

The Open Data site offers the ability to filter by your address, the owners name and will link directly to the violation page location on Omahapermits.com

On the Omaha Permits site for the property in question you will see a More Information Tab that can be clicked then select “Application Information Table”

Here you will see a full break down of active, closed and removed violations for the property in question.

The Omaha Permits site also lists phone numbers and e-mails for people to call if you have specific questions about code violations. Having dealt with many properties with code violations I can say the city of Omaha is very easy to work with. Like with any government agency there may be red tape and things may take a while to progress but the city and their inspectors are there to help you and ensure properties are safe and livable.
